Pillai’s current research interest is to develop functional nanostructured materials and polymer composites for cosmetic and active food packaging applications.
Dr Muniyasamy’s research interests lie in bioplastics and biobased materials from renewable sources for various industrial sectors application.
Oelofse’s research interests include the institutional and legal framework within which waste is managed in South Africa, waste information and data, re-use of industrial waste streams, reducing the environmental impacts of waste, food waste and South Africa’s transition to a circular economy.
Taljaar’s key competencies are in biogeochemical (water quality) characteristics and processes in coastal systems (including estuaries) and their responses to global change pressures and the development and application of coastal water quality.
