Adeiza’s research interests include the development, implementation and testing of algorithms for systems utilised in edge intelligence, smart grids, transactive energy, IoT, cognitive radio spectrum sensing, metaheuristic optimisation algorithms, wireless sensor networks, image processing, cyber-physical systems and low-powered wireless area networks.
Le Roux’s research interests focus on using geographic information science to provide planning and decision support to local, regional and national decision-makers with a specific focus on land-use change modelling, disaster risk reduction and spatial trends analysis.
Sharma specialises in the design and system integration of electronics for laser power supplies, as well as pulse diagnostics, temperature, flow, motion control, opto-mechanics, spectroscopy and optical sensors. Other competences include light detection and ranging, and optical coherence tomography.
Pieterse’s research interests focus on research uptake and mainstreaming evidence into local government planning and policy, with specific focus on climate change adaptation and resilience.
