Dr Lysko’s research includes networking, antennas, radio propagation, 5G/6G and dynamic spectrum access – especially television white spaces (TVWS).
Lopis’ main role is to support chemistry and materials science users of high-performance computing, while his research interests entail atomistic modelling (molecular dynamics) of very high temperature molten slag systems in collaboration with the Pyrometallurgy Division at Mintek.
Smit’s research interests are multidisciplinary and focus on mathematical modelling, especially the application of conservation law modelling applied to coastal system dynamics and earth systems modelling, as well as multi-physics/multi-scale modelling. She leads the CSIR’s advanced mathematical modelling research group in Stellenbosch.
