Phiri’s interests are in laboratory accreditation, which ensures that standards are maintained and that results are reliable in support of clinical and public health activities and certify compliance with standards.

Phiri holds a BSc (Microbiology) from the University of South Africa. She joined the CSIR in 2020 and plays a leading role in the laboratory accreditation process and developing quality assessment and quality control policy and documentation for the CSIR’s Biosafety Level-2 facility.
