Dr Kittessa Roro
Roro’s research interests are photovoltaic technologies across the entire value chain, solar resource assessment and forecasting, integration of solar technologies to the grid, and renewable energy.

Roro undertakes photovoltaic technology research and is instrumental in growing the CSIR’s photovoltaic technology domain experience and knowledge. He holds a PhD in physics from the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University, obtained in 2008. He joined the CSIR in 2015 and was appointed as a senior researcher focusing on energy. Roro led the development of the Solar Energy Technology Research, Development and Innovation Roadmap for South Africa, a study commissioned by the Department of Science and Technology.
