Cyprian Buhle Mkhize
Buhle Mkhize’s interests include architecture and design and development of reliable solutions that employ software engineering principles in the delivery of services to customers. His current focus is on the use of IoT platforms as an enabler for delivering solutions in different domains, and the use of lightweight communications protocols and data compaction when integrating IoT platforms with resource-constrained devices and sensors over different types of networks.
Full Profile
Buhle Mkhize is a principal software engineer in the Advanced AIoT group. He joined Sasol as a Systems Specialist in 1997. In 1999, he joined the CSIR as a senior software developer, and later did research on topics related to computer processing of human languages.
In 2005, he joined Telkom as a Production Support Manager, maintaining and looking after various external-facing systems. In 2006, he joined Standard Bank’s Corporate and Investment Banking division as a Technical Lead and worked on security and integration projects for large multicurrency systems that process corporate and investment banking transactions.
In 2014, he re-joined the CSIR as a principal software engineer. He is currently developing IoT backend platforms and system and solution architectures for complex mission-critical and high-performance software systems that are horizontally integratable and scalable in AIoT.
