The CSIR is inviting researchers employed at public universities and universities of technology in South Africa to participate and apply for funding to support their laser-related research programm
Proposals for grant funding are hereby invited for the following two separate and independent elements within the RISP:
A. Regional Innovation Networking Platforms aimed at establishing networking platforms to bring together research, development and innovation communities, technology SMMEs, industry and government.
B. Feasibility study or business plan support for innovation enabling mechanisms such as:
a. Science and Technology Parks, Techno Parks, Innovation Hubs, Tech Hubs or other similar concepts.
b. Other innovation enabling mechanisms and initiatives.
CSIR Smart Places is currently engaged in a project to clear out the Environmental Labs in Pretoria and Durban. The cluster has decided to donate the remaining items to an external party.
The ALC Knowledge Exchange Programme (KEP) supports the development of centres of expertise in photonics-related disciplines across the African continent.
The Collaborative Program in Additive Manufacturing (CPAM) invites companies to respond to a Call for Proposals (CFP) for an SMME support development program for access to additive manufacturing (AM) design and prototype production (printing) expertise support.
The African Laser Centre is a NEPAD flagship initiative and is funded by the Department of Science and Innovation.
