CSIR to host 8th Emerging Researchers Symposium
The Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) will host its 8th Emerging Researchers Symposium (ERS), an initiative designed to empower the next generation of researchers. This initiative supports candidate researchers, postgraduate students from various universities and post-doctoral fellows by providing them with an opportunity to showcase their work and compete in a supportive environment.
The Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) will host its 8th Emerging Researchers Symposium (ERS), an initiative designed to empower the next generation of researchers. This initiative supports candidate researchers, postgraduate students from various universities and post-doctoral fellows by providing them with an opportunity to showcase their work and compete in a supportive environment.
The symposium will take place from 28 to 29 August 2025 and is expected to host 200 participants, including internal and external stakeholders. This year’s theme is: “Celebrating 80 Years of Innovation – Showcasing the Next Generation of Research, Development and Innovation.”
The ERS bridges this gap by providing a platform for researchers to present their work and highlight their contributions within the broader research community.Now in its eighth edition, the ERS remains a cornerstone event at the CSIR. By fostering collaboration, confidence, and skills development, the ERS plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of research and innovation in South Africa.
